Many mammals, including people, can have an intestinal infection of tapeworms. They may live for almost twenty years and increase in size to over 50 feet. Occasionally, someone infested with tapeworms won’t have any symptoms and will not realize that they have an infestation. Often, however, people might vomit, feel sick, lose their appetite, and feel weak. As the infestation gets worse, you lose weight, and you may see tapeworm pieces when you have a bowl movement. In bad cases, tapeworms might cause problems with usual bowel movements or make your stomach hurt.
